These photos really need no commentary. We were there just at the peak of the bloom on April 20th.
There were a lot of varieties of Tulips, each with their own beauty.
And you know me, just a Magpie as far as bright colours go.
They also had a display of dragon kites, which was fun for the kids.
And someone else was getting their own personal aerial tour, dipping low over the fields.
Tomorrow is our garage sale. We're exhausted, but hoping to get rid of a lot of stuff!
WOW!
ReplyDeleteThat plane is a P-51 Mustang, the premier fighter of World War II - about as old as you and I.
the blooms are just breathtaking and so colorful, it looks like you picked the perfect day to visit. this reminds me of our longwood gardens that we visit!! i love kites, good luck with the garage sale!!!
ReplyDeleteGarage sales down here usually mean either " You need to clean out lots of stuff before you move!!!" OR..." We are having a garage sale to get some cash in our pockets!!" Tulips, totally glorious, a riot of Colours. And if that was the only spectacular place you visited on that trip, it would make the extra kms or miles so worthwhile, but every photo showed us that there was beauty everywhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sight! Eye Candy for sure.
ReplyDeleteLovely. Was it mobbed?
ReplyDeletethank you for the beautiful photos. Tulips are so simple yet so gorgeous. My husband will like the P-51 photo.

ReplyDeleteIt is almost color overload with all the tulips. I bet it was fun to see.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how they plant them all! Imagine what an undertaking that is.
ReplyDeleteGlorious glorious glorious - I'm glad "we" could share our tulips with you. Actually we were viewing fields that same day, but I didn't see you. I'm sure I would have recognized you, had we passed each other. I'm so glad you got to realize your goal of seeing the fields in full bloom - and on such a pretty day. This is always a highlight for us each year. Your photos are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJust WOW!!
ReplyDeleteThey are a gorgeous sight.
