Sun, Clouds and Snow

The weather continues to vary here in the north country, from sun to clouds to snow again.  A nice sunrise earlier in the week, and this morning a really nice gentle snowfall, of which we've gotten too few this winter.

We had at least one nice sunrise, although the spot on the horizon at which the sun rises these days makes it hard to get a nice shot when Mrs. F.G. steps put on our front porch.  Still, the sun is rising further north than it has since mid-October, so that's a good sign.

We've had some brilliant sunny days which are soul-nourishing,

but lots of those dull grey dark days too, that just seem to put things on hold again for a few more days.

And this morning the snow was coming down quite heavily for awhile.  But the forecast for the weekend is hard to believe for February - well above the freezing mark for the weekend.  Yay!

  2. Love those skies through the trees. I miss the open space we had at our previous home, and here there are street lights, roofs, cars whizzing past, and no clear views in any which way. I have some autumn bulbs showing taller green shoots, the Nerines are almost in flower on tall stems, summer flowers almost finished, and a small quilting project might be actually finished this weekend. I always thought what our doctor calls " The sunset years" would be so easy and would have time galore to do what I wanted.B ut as you know so well, things take longer and other things interfere with all projects. Looking fgorwards to see what MNrs F.G. has under the machine lately.

  3. OOPS, too many spelling errors there in that last sentence, and the one before, a narrower keyboard takes some getting used to.

  10. I love the pictures through the trees too. Often my morning sunrises are taken the same way. I can't believe I'm saying this but the picture of the snow through your trees is beautiful. :)
