Ice

Some shots of the ice on a big shrub down by the shore for you today.  It was a bright sunny day and I got carried away, taking far more pix than I should have, but hope you enjoy it.

More gentle snowfalls here, keeping the world outside clean and white.  But it's still very mild (for us), staying just close to the freezing mark.  We're really getting an unusually gentle winter!

  1. Absolutely beautiful ice formations. Since the introduction of digital photography it's been nice not to have to worry about taking too many photos. I remember throwing away piles of slides at 25 cents apiece, now it just takes some time to sort through the photos.

  2. I enjoyed looking at these pictures very much. They are fascinating to think of how that ice coated the branches and makes a sculpture. :-)

  4. Great ice photos and I well know your excitement at seeing so many beautiful ice sculptures right in front of you. For we photo bugs it's pure magic. I don't think I've ever seen that much concentrated ice on trees and shrubs before. You were in the right place at the right time with the right camera and the right knowledge to use it:))

  8. I'm happy your winter has been a gentle one. I like our friends and family to be comfortable back home too. These pictures of ice are gorgeous! Never enough because it is fascinating the way it coats the biggest and the smallest branches with no discrimination.
