Home Again - No Physio

We got to Owen Sound after that drive yesterday only to find that physio didn't have us on their list until next week, so I had an easy day of it.  Mrs. F.G. had to pick up her glasses after having them adjusted (for the 4th time!) so we drove down there first.  Then we picked up hot chocolate before heading home.

I've been parked here outside the optometrist's 4 times in recent months, staring at these enormous blue Christmas lights, so I finally took a picture.

Actually, the first photo was like this.  The iphone focused on the water droplets on the window rather than the big blue lights.

We stopped at the Co-op for Mrs. F.G., but it was closed.  This is a general purpose store that you get used to after living in a rural community.

Then it was back up the hill beside St.Mary's Catholic Church.  It must have been a dominant building on the east side of Owen Sound before all these trees grew up..

We passed the airport outside of town on the way home.  I'll have to tell you about Billy Bishop, Canada's most decorated WWII pilot sometime.

I was able to snap a photo of this barn among the trees; the house is totally hidden.  The farm sits unused, the drive not even plowed out.

We had pickred up that hot chocolate, so once we got back in town we went down to the shore to sit for awhile.

It was a dark grey day on the bay!

  3. I sure hope we can get over that way this summer. I haven't seen any of my cousins in too many years.

  5. Gray, gray day from the looks of the bay. That hot chocolate sounds good on a damp, gray, dreary day.

  6. The church spire is a beauty. I imagine it's well hidden in warmer weather.

  8. I don't know why but my mind never connected Tim Hortons with hot chocolate. Thanks for putting that piece of info in my mind. A splendid winter option to always getting a decaf coffee. And yes, we sure have had a lot of grey days this winter alright.

  9. Great series of pictures. I keep waiting for one of my corner timbers to give out like the barn. Stay warm!

  10. We are known get Tim's hot chocolate and coffee half and half for a winter treat.

We have both postponed our optometry appointments until we don't have to wear masks. I wonder when that will be.

  11. It's a shame you weren't able to get your physio, but it sounds like it was a good drive. I laughed at the blurry photo of the lights, so many of my photos start that way too. The last photo, as others have mentioned is lovely despite the gray and snow.

  12. The water has a clear blue color. It is a nice scene. The church and barns really help to portray the kind of weather you are having.
