We're under a snow warning today - not a snow squall warning, nor a winter storm warning, just a snow warning, for 15-20 cm. (6-8") today and tonight. That's a bit unusual here, but it's been snowing just a little every day or two, so it just keeps on accumulating. Usually we get a 'January thaw' that melts some snow and collapses the rest, but not this year. In sheltered spots it's accumulated to over 2' deep!
Until the past hour it had been snowing since early morning here, sometimes quite heavily like this.
The white 'coffin of snow atop the planter just keeps on growing, and it's grown more since.
Shooting against the evergreens is the best way to show the snow that is actually falling, big fluffy flakes of white.
That is a lot of snow. Your mound does tell the truth as to how much you are getting. The yellow lawn chair is the only bright spot in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI woke up this morning expecting to see a lot of snow, but there was only about two centimetres on the driveway and no more has fallen - yet! I have the drive and the sidewalk cleaned right down to asphalt and paving respectively, so at least I will have a clean start when the predicted dump arrives.
ReplyDeleteWe got none overnight and the sun came out this afternoon. I wonder if we will get as much as they predict tonight. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same warning coming for us. There was light snow here this morning.
ReplyDeleteUsually we'll have a January thaw or a February thaw which might last a few hours, but that hasn't happened either this year.
We are having a storm starting in the morning. Ugh! I enjoy your descriptions!
ReplyDeleteLovely winter photos. We've been getting a bit of snow every day too, but you like you have a bit more than we do.
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeleteVisiting you from my following AC’s blog. I very much enjoy your images! I am going to try to stop by frequently!

We were so surprised to see sunshine today. Looking out the window tonight I can see I will be spending time on the end of my snow shovel again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt's many years, decades even, since we had snowfall like that. You've got some excellent shots of the falling snow.
ReplyDeleteJust wait until that yellow chair disappears beneath the snow.
ReplyDeleteIt is still snowing here, but I don't have to go out until 11 for our weekly grocery pickup. I am counting on clear driveway and road by then.
ReplyDeleteYup, not sure what they call it then. Looks like a snow warning, snow squall and winter warning all in one! Lots of falling and blowing white stuff, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely getting quite a bit of snow. Ours is on the way out, with rain falling now and causing huge puddles across the streets. We are above freezing overnight these days, so we are on the way back to normalcy.
ReplyDeleteoooooh it is so pretty, awesome snaps of it!!!
