Yesterday the snow returned with a vengeance, not a lot more inches, but heavy winds, white-outs, drifting and road closures. It's not unusual for the highway here to be closed 2 or 3 times a winter. The snow just keeps on piling up; we've had no real melting since the beginning of January and the world outside the window is really white!
As you can see the wind had plastered snow splotches on the window, so photos were a little tricky. And the snow on top of the planter looked like an old stone Viking grave. The snow is 16" deep on the left.
I love your winter photos! Makes me glad I only have to cope with rain.
ReplyDeleteWe had a sunny morning without wind. Such a treat! Storm tonight!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
Looks like someone was throwing snowballs at your window. We had 14" last Monday but no wind, that makes a world of difference.
ReplyDeleteQuite buried!
ReplyDeleteWe could use the snow, but that won't come until the Polar vortex has moved along. You certainly have plenty!
ReplyDeleteTake care, stay well.
We were surrounded by really bad weather Saturday but from Bayfield to Goderich along highway 21 was surprisingly clear. We've got a fair bit of snow but I think you have more.
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of snow. But that last picture made me feel there might be a little light at the end of the tunnel. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow that was quite a wind, to plaster the snow on your windows like that! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThe sunshine is a definite improvement to your pictures! :) Well worth getting to the last one. So pretty with the coloured chairs and blue sky.
ReplyDelete"Tomorrow I may get to my second Arctic series of posts" - but will we be able to tell the difference; it looks pretty arctic where you are!
ReplyDeletePretty! When the rare snows come here, they don't usually last more than a couple of days - with some exceptions, of course.
