More Fall Colours

We left the Amik subdivision and headed up to Clarksburg on Grey Road 13, looking up at Old Baldy as we turned.  We saw a lot of yellow trees and fencerows, but spotted a number of bright red maples too.

Turning left through Heathcote to Clarksburg.  Sadly the Heathcote bakery wasn't open, so no butter tarts.

Lots of colourful trees along the way.

This Sugar Maple turning red is on the way into Clarksbueg.

Often I think that a closer view captures the colour of fall better than wider views.

These two trees greeted us on the way out of Clarksburg, heading west.  I have a few more fall colours tomorrow.  You're going to get tired of them, but this transformation in the world around us is the single biggest change in the seasons over the entire year, and that's what this blog is all about.

  1. Those deep colours show better in the far south or Central Otago than where we are, the colder winters bring out the very best, your trees are so beautiful, who could not stop to admire every leaf as it is red, orange or gold.

  3. I agree, the close-ups are wonderful. Our leaves are nearly done, such a short season. I've stretched our Monday out to 4 different posts, as we just haven't gone too far lately. Ottawa is horrid with COVID.

  4. Because it's been very, very dry for the last several months our colors may not be as good as usual but individual trees and shrubs are as good as ever. Sorry about the lack of butter tarts, your doctor would probably say you're better off without them.

  7. You will get no complaints from me about your color filled posts! I miss the colorful season changes now that we live in central Texas.

  10. Yep, the Fall colors are sure popping up your way. If we get another spate of warmer weather we might head up around that Beaver Valley way.
