It's Thanksgiving weekend here and we have so much to be thankful for! We're enjoying a weekend of outside work, putting things away for the coming cold season, and planting bulbs for next year. Mrs. F.G. got carried away and ordered lots of bulbs from Botanus in B.C. They arrived yesterday and she's already planted a lot of them. Next year our yard will feature several unusual colourful new blooms - Aliums, Dwarf Iris, Fritillaria, Camassia, and Foxtail Lilies. And it's a beautiful warm sunny day for working too.
We've conquered the Thanksgiving cooking demands by ordering dinner from two different restaurants in town, Amicis and ChezGilles. We already had the first last night and there are enough leftovers for tonight. We'll pick up the second tomorrow afternoon. Makes the weekend go much easier, and we're not having family over because of the growing threat of the virus. We've stopped going to church as well for now, which is frustrating, but we'll survive.
For Thanksgiving though, I bring you a few of my favourite fall colour shots from the past.
Beautiful photos. Enjoy your thanksgiving dinners and the leftovers. COVID is much worse down here, and will probably get worse before Thanksgiving in the U.S. so we'll not get together with family either.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you. Gorgeous colours again.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Thanksgiving. The virus is taking hold here again too. Having established that young people are tending to be the ones breaking the rules, and that the virus seems to do best where people are all crowded together, the government made the very sensible decision to send all the students back to university. Guess what? There's been a huge spike in the number of cases everywhere that there are student halls of residence. Another triumph for Bumbling Boris!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you both!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and Mrs. FG too. Sorry you can't have your family with you to mark the day. Here the number of cases is very low. Besides which we've been in contact with our family with the exception of the first 5 weeks. ( Our grown children all live here in the same town as we and see a lot of each other).
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Beautiful fall color images.
