Hints of Fall Colour

We're approaching the biggest seasonal change of the year, when leaves turn colour and fall, leaving us open to the onslaught of winter.  I've noticed a few trees leading the way, but there'll be a much bigger change in the next two weeks.

These two trees were the ones I watched out the window last fall when I wasn't moving around much.  Now that we've had the trees trimmed I get a much better view.  Can you detect a hint of colour in the upper right of the right-hand tree?

 A closer look might help.

This smaller tree has been catching the corner of my eye too, and is currently the brightest tree on the golf course.

This big tree down the street is running faster than any of them.  Much more to come in the next few weeks.

  1. As tired as I get of hot weather fall always seems to come too soon.

  2. Those autumn colours are glorious here in the far south, colder winters, and hotter summers, and one year when we were there, the ground was literally a sea of orange, red and gold. Central Otago shows this so well, and I can see we will have a lot more gold in your photos very soon.

  3. I am seeing lots of color change around town. I should get out with my camera and capture some of it, like you have. I agree that there will be much more to see in the coming weeks. My favorite time of the year. :-)

  5. We're getting a fair bit of color now, but it's been really dry and many leaves are just turning brown and falling.

  6. Some of the maples in our back yard seem to change over night.

  7. Just a touch of colour here, though the weather has suddenly become very autumnal - and very wet this morning!

  8. Hello, pretty trees and colors. Our fall is starting slowly, I think missing rain this summer will have an effect on the fall colors we see. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!

  9. Pretty! I've seen a few starting to change. I should really start doing some photography for fall colours.
