Lake Huron Skies

Earlier this week we took a day and drove over to Lake Huron, stopping at Kincardine and Point Clarke, to see two lighthouses we had never seen.  It was a beautiful sunny day, though quite cold with a strong breeze off the lake.  Lake Huron in the distance was the deepest blue I have ever seen.  We enjoyed the whole day exploring.

Down the beach a few brave people were sitting in the sun, and someone was flying a big bright kite.  Not many bikinis in sight yet though; we were wearing jackets.

I'll get to pictures of the lighthouses when I get the chance.

  1. That looks like the beaches on the Oregon coast. Not too many folks sunbathing there either.

  2. Like a visit to the North Sea - you wear a jacket and scarf then roll up your trousers for a brief paddle at the edge of the waves. The seas are never that blue though.

  3. Wow, that's a lake! I'd have thought it was the sea if you hadn't said. It's all so blue.

  4. Nice Lake Huron photos & I think you & I are so fortunate to live in these parts of South-western Ontario that we do. Forests, rivers, rural farmlands, numerous hiking trails, hills & dales & so close to the 3rd largest fresh water lake in the world that it's like being near the ocean. So much natural diversity with so many things to see & do.
