We got home again to our much more luxurious and peaceful home base here in Meaford today, after 5 days in that big London Health Sciences Spa. The food here, homemade tomato soup, is fabulous, maybe I finally feel like eating. I had asked a friend to clear our drive, but when he came over he found a neighbour had already done it! Bodes well for the new neighbourhood.
Somehow we were able to thread our way through heavy snowfalls both southeast of us, around Lake Ontario, and northwest of us, along Lake Huron, to find roads that were clear and mostly bare all the way home. A good thing, since we've had about 18" of snow up here over the week.
Let me tell you, that general anaesthetic does strange things to your brain for several days after the actual surgery. I could not even describe to you where I was in my constant fast-cycling dreams, but I know I didn't get much sleep all week because of them. To say nothing of swelling up to look like someone else! No, that's an insult to someone else; and I'm told I look more like myself now.
Anyway, I did collect some Meaford photos before this all happened, so maybe I can get my brain focussed enough to write some blogs - hope so. It's going to be a very quiet Christmas here, but we're very glad to be home.
