But I missed it by a nose! The first one had gone on ahead, and then the second headed after it. I almost caught these two, but not quite!
Luckily, the third one didn't run and I got 3 or 4 pictures as it crossed the meadow out back.
It stopped to nibble on what looked like the seed pods of last year's Evening Primrose.
And kept looking up alertly, watchful for trouble.
It was nice to see them at least once this year. I see their tracks all the time when I walk the woods on the farm next door.
And earlier that morning, Mrs. Sharp-eyes F.G. had spotted this rabbit resting under our trailer. Not very good lighting under there for a good picture. Beautiful day here as the bitter cold is over and we're having seasonal temperatures. Even worked in the garage for several hours cleaning up.

Great luck to get the wildlife on the homefront. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteBun-Bun had the right idea, good shelter, and those deer, lovely to see your outdoor photos, this is something we dream of.
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally got to see them. Here the deer usually nip our hostas heavily and every winter our rhododendrons loose all their leaves that deer can reach. The tulip flowers go too, but not the leaves; and each summer fawns try plants that the adults won't eat.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great deer photos there.
ReplyDeleteI love deer, but rarely see them up by the cabin. - Margy
ReplyDeleteYou did capture some great photos. I know I have been there when I saw the greatest photo leave my viewfinder before I could snap it. I like that you can see these animals in your yard. We always have a few rabbits around as there is a farm field close by to us..
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - love the bunny too. I have so many nature pictures that get cut off just a bit - but I keep them anyway. I try to shoot ahead of the subject but even then I often cut off their noses - poor things.
ReplyDeleteNice deer captures. I like your last one the best. Big beautiful critters. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese deer and the bunny seem to have gotten through the worst of the winter in fine form.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nice to see deer. You got some great pictures. Good eye of MRS F.G. to spot the bunny.
ReplyDeleteThere they were!
ReplyDeleteYou were quick on the draw with your camera to capture these great shots of the deer! They are lovely creatures!
ReplyDeleteCute rabbit sighting too!
You still have winter too. Nice shots, even without the nose...and that bunny is really cute! :)
ReplyDeleteYou got some fantastic pictures here.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan

ReplyDeleteHow fun to see deer in your own backyard!
ReplyDeleteOh, those lovely deer! We have seen them on drives in Lanark, but had no success in capturing them with the camera in recent weeks. Now (of course) we will have to go looking for quilt blocks on local barns!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful deer! And a cute bunny rabbit, too!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day
