Morning Dew

It's been a hot humid day, and the rain the weather forecast promised has not materialized.  We've taken to actually watering the garden, something we rarely do.  And of course I have outside projects to work on.  I took a lot of breaks today!  But one morning this week we had a lot of dew, and quite a few spider webs in the grass.

You'd never even spot these spider webs in the grass if it wasn't for the dew glistening on them in the morning sun.

A lot of plants don't hold the dew, but the long linear leaves of the Day Lilies do.

And there were a few other plants like this Elephant Ears that hold the dew, at least along the edge of the leaf.

And yesterday's Day Lily blooms, already wilting and fading in the early morning sun.

  2. lovely day lily leaves. Down here, I like the freesia stems, that have that one drop of dew on the very tip.

  6. Awesome photos . We had a wicked few storms early this morning up till about 10 am torrential rains very loud thunder and the most lighting strikes I have ever seen even the weather channel was warning about the amount of lighting strikes in the area , some areas lost power and are still with out it . Great to have the rain as it has been very dry but it just makes it more steamy and humid afterwards . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
