Standing on the dock in the late afternoon sun; I think they're suitably disguised in the reflection.
We had a good visit while we gathered for the potluck, watching the reflections in the lake.
Eventually (this was only two weeks after ths solstice, so sunset was late), the sun did sink toward the horizon, ....
.... and disappear.
After that it was just a beautiful peaceful view across the lake until dusk settled down.
The breeze died, and the reflection was perfectly clear.

Whaddya mean, a dud? Those are some spectacular shots, and I especially love the first and last ones. What a great eye you have. :-)
ReplyDeleteDid you save the best for last. Every one perfect, and a lovely story to go along.Ditto to DJan's words.
ReplyDeleteThe sky color was nice, I don't think it was a dud. And I like your first and last photos.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love these photos! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove sunsets across the water, excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos . Looks so pretty and peaceful ! Thanks for sharing Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteGreat images, as usual. I especially like the first one.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
I'd really like to paint your shot with the grasses in the sunset.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, esp. like the bottom one, and the vertical one in the middle.
ReplyDeleteLovely twilight views. That last one's my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThat top image is wonderful. It works really well with the ripples in the water giving it such a great distortion. The water in the next one reflects so many nice colors. My morning adventures with my little dog each morning has taught me that the sky needs good clouds or really great colors otherwise, it is just sky.
ReplyDeleteYes, a sunset without clouds is a letdown. But, you managed to get some very fine shots. The topmost one of the reflection is hilarious; you caught it just at the right moment such that the water ripple decapitated the subject [or, is that post editing magic?]. I too like the bottom shot. Here is an exception to the 'rule' that horizons should not be in the middle of the shot.
ReplyDeleteIt may not have been a spectacular sunset, but you got some very nice photos anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou managed to get some VERY nice shots.
ReplyDeleteLove the unusual reflection.
Beautiful scenes
ReplyDeleteBeautiful for a 'dud'. The last is postcard perfect.
ReplyDeleteIncluding things in the foreground is always a great way of taking the dudness out of a clear sky sunrise or sunset photo. Nice reflection photo to start off with too.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE that first reflection.
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes!
