When we first arrived, there were some scattered clouds in the western sky, and a nice sunset looked at least possible. The east shore of the lake provides a great viewpoint.
And as dusk neared, the clouds looked promising (you need some clouds for a good sunset shot).
I did really like this shot of the canoe tied to the dock, with the lamp post in front, as the sun got closer to setting.
But in the end, this was the only shot I got that was anything like a sunset - not much to speak of!
On the other hand, this shot of the canoe and reflection appealed to me. And in the meantime, the barbecue had been delicious, and we sat around the campfire and swapped travel and photography stories for another hour or two. 'A good time was had by all'.

An evening sitting on Muskoka chairs is always welcome. Terrific shots!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time and it's a beautiful spot there on the lake. I like the reflections of the canoes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful time anyway, and I do think you got wonderful shots. The one of the chairs is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNice shots and the first one is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are very beautiful, and I love the reflections.
ReplyDeleteIf there's one thing you can never guarantee then it's a sunset. I think that the canoe and lamppost shot is better for not having a too-gaudy sunset; it has a nice melancholy feeling to it as it is.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is my favourite. I can picture myself watching the sunset from those chairs... I love their design too. I also like the canoe picture : you capture the twilight with a lot of art.
ReplyDeletewow... the reflection by sunset light is really spectacular... Beautiful landscape, no doubt...
ReplyDeleteI loved the picture of the canoe and the lamp post. Always a good time when food and friends are involved. : )
ReplyDeletelove, love, love those chairs!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun event, and any shot with a canoe has a better than average chance of being good ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe two are wonderful reflection photos. And your self proclaimed not very good sunset shot looks like a burning bush experience.
