We dropped down to the shoreline on our way home from physio yesterday and my stalwart assistant photographer, Mrs. F.G., hopped out of the car to take some photos. As the waves continue to roll in the ice accumulates in interesting patterns on the few sad trees growing right at the waterline.
The bay was deep dark blue in the late afternoon sun.
The ice formed interesting patterns on the short broken branches.
Here are the icicles, dripping all the branches; note the ice on the tree trunk.
This ice will persist all winter, coming and going, shifting in shape, all winter long. It sure makes something interesting to watch for down at the shore.
