Snow's Almost Gone (Again)

We're almost back to the bare grass of a week ago.  I took advantage of it last week to ride downtown for coffee.  Chair worked great, but sidewalks are terrible - bumpity bumpity bumpity!  Coffee was good though.  Today I got dropped off, but drove myself home.  Feels good to be out and about.

  2. When my mother-in-law was in a wheelchair for the last several years of her life we quickly learned how terrible most sidewalks are. Around here many of the folks using mobility devices travel in the streets, can't imagine how scary that must be at times.

  3. I am sure glad you are able to get out again, and that the snow is mostly gone. Sorry to learn now tough it will be to get around on those bumpy sidewalks, but it's something, at least. :-)

  4. We're at a similar spot, snow-wise.

  5. And are there narrow doorways too as well as all bumps? So good to know you can manage, have the confidence to be there by yourself, how long to get from the coffee place to home?

  6. Good to get out and about, and lets hope you have said goodbye to the snow for the last time for a few months. The village I live in is terrible for wheelchair users - particularly as it contains both an old people's home and a school for special-needs children. The station recently installed a ramp so wheelchair users could access the train to Cambridge, though unfortunately there's no access to the other platform so they can't get home again!

  7. So glad that you are starting your new adventure. Getting out is so important. Ours snows are long gone, but we do get cold at night until this week when I can pull everything out into the sun.

  9. Friday 12:15 p.m. .Checking our Exeter 'live radar' weather site which covers your area I'm seeing you are under a big snow cloud again. Might have to get your wheels replaced with snowmobile traction. I wonder if they build softer tires to help absorb bumps on those chairs. Nice for you to get out like that.

  10. Typical Ontario, eh? I say, EH? I switch between Canadian slang and Texan drawl. I hope y'all continue to lose snow and keep it that way. :)
