Bright Quilts!

We heard there was a quilt show at the library in Thornbury, a very nice library with a gallery room included.  This show was entitled Quilts in Depth, by Joyce Seagram and if anything characterized it, it was the bright colours!

These are two views of the gallery room, and below are a selection of individual quilts.

One thing that surprised us was the prices.  They were all for sale, at prices ranging up to $10,000.00!!

  2. My eyes are always attracted to colors. I worked at the Stratford Art Gallery for awhile a bunch of years ago and while there we had a quilt exhibition. Beautiful colors and imaginations. The intricate amount of work that goes into those quilts is truly amazing.

  6. Thank You!!!! Since Roger's stroke and my fall last year, I have not been to even a small quilt show. So I love it when I see photos. I always find these quilts interesting to look at and see just how they were sewn together.

  7. Bright, beautiful, lots of detail, and oodles of money to buy one. Mrs F.G. I guess you and I will still be making our own.Well, that is making a huge presumption, but I do know I would not be buying one.

  9. We just had a quilt show in town. When I was working, one of the principals had students make squares and then put them together into quilts to hand on the walls. She was so creative. - Margy

  10. What a lovely collection of contemporary quilts. Also, that display room does a collection like this justice.
