Not much you can do outside on a day like this, but the Blue Jays were still by, hunting for seeds.
Days like this at 5 degrees above freezing in late fall always feel colder than winter days at 5 degrees below freezing. I think we must get used to the colder temperatures as winter arrives.
The raindrops provide lots of interesting patterns, but can you tell I'm struggling ton find new blog topics every day! Not getting out much, and not many new photos. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I thought a short video might give you a
more realistic impression of both the back yard
and the weather.
I find there's something soothing about the wind blowing the branches about like that in the video.
ReplyDeleteIf only it rained between midnight and six in the morning. There hasn't been rain here today, but that doesn't mean it might not show up.
The raindrops on the windows make for interesting photos, it must have been quite breezy to put that much rain on the windows.
ReplyDeleteNot only do we get used to the cooler temperatures, but the humidity is lower on those below freezing days. On damp days it takes more of our body heat to warm the damp air trapped in our clothing as well as warm the damp clothing itself so we lose more heat and feel colder.
Don't fret about finding topics for posts, we all go through dry spells.
The early cold and damp rainy weather make t feel much colder than the mid winter day sunny days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by mine Furry...hadn’t seen you for a while!
ReplyDeleteSame crummy weather down here...loved your birds in previous post...they do make it more bearable🧡
Cheers!

We had 5 weeks of cold , snowy, rainy weather through Sept and Oct
ReplyDeleteWrite about whatever you like! Just relax and go with the flow! Your yard is very pretty in the video...a very calming view! :)
ReplyDeleteThe view from your windows are wonderful, wide and open spaces with trees in their autumn colours.Love those raindrops. What about some pics from your archives for us newer followers, before we "met " you. Or even be very brave, and show us some of Mrs F.G.'s creations.
ReplyDeleteSnippets of what you see and hear - a treat. Good idea Nancy J had about some pics from your archives - and would Mrs. F.G be willing to share pictures of her creations?

ps: we got rain tonight and for the next several days after about 15 days of Indian Summer. I cleaned up the tomato plants today and bagged them for recycling.
Not much you can do on wet day. I tend to do some blogs on my archive of photos which I collect
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year. I like to cocoon indoors on a rainy day.

You have a lovely back yard view. The video was nice and I know you'll have no problem finding things to write about as the season changes from fall to winter. Staying indoors on wet, cool days can be pleasant too.
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty raindrop pictures. Your unique situation is of interest to me, at least, and I am always wanting to hear how you are coping with your changed circumstances. It's just always nice to hear from you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like your second photo of the water droplets on the window.
ReplyDeleteNot much to do outside on rainy days but they do make for great photos.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a nice cool bit coming through our area too...enough I even put a jacket on for my Wednesday morning breakfast ride
ReplyDelete:)
Last year October was like September and November like October. I remember it as the best Autumn weather ever. This year our October has been like an old fashioned miserably cold and wet November. I know they are predicting a mild winter but that's pretty hard to swallow at this point so far. I do think you have probably had more rain up your way than we have had down here.
ReplyDeleteThese are really impressive shots. I like the patterns of the leaves that blend in to make the plane of deck and grass blend into a surrealistic visual. I am not ready for snow but I know the it is coming.
ReplyDeleteJust be yourself. I think you have become an inspiration for all of us as we age, face different circumstances and want to learn how to enjoy all that life has to offer. Your views always resound with me.
ReplyDeleteWonderful video. I enjoy seeing reviews of your earlier photos - many of which I'd not seen anyway. You bring such light and joy to people with your life and attitude. Thank you!
