As we slip into the last day of the month, the golden colours remain, though the leaves are fewer and fewer. It's as if the air glows with a yellow or orange hue.
You can take the process apart and understand the chemistry, but what I see is simply beauty.
I think part of it this year is our new, very small back yard. The trees are so close along the back of the yard that the leaves seem to wrap right around you..
That's my impression of October, the golden month.
Ah, lovely! I will miss all these golden colors (colours?) when they are on the ground and the bare branches reach for the sky. :-)
ReplyDeleteOctober is one of my favorite months, and the wonderful fall colors is a big reason.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, it is the golden month.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty doesn't last long enough in my part of the province.
ReplyDeleteOctober is perhaps my favourite month - beauty in the trees as they change their colours and the crispness of the fall temperatures mixed with blue skies and sunshine. Rain too but we need it so it is part of the fall celebration. Halloween tomorrow. I think we will have a few kids who live on our street around 5 pm and by 7 pm I will turn off the outside lights (signals that all the parents on the block seem to use when the treats run out). I run out of steam by 7 anyway.

Spring down here, leaves sprouting, bubs forming, and blossoms on the Cherry trees. Love the changes you see up North, and deeper colours like in our far south.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful golden glow on all those photos. Our autumn looks set to linger on into November once again this year, though there's a definite chill in the air this morning.
ReplyDeleteLoving those fall colours thanks for sharing what we are missing.
ReplyDeleteGolden indeed!
ReplyDeleteVery golden

ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful reflections, F.G. I can almost feel the peacefulness of it all. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the color. So miss the colors of fall.
