It was a quiet stay-at-home sort of day. After the extremes of the past week, we thoroughly enjoyed the chance to slow down a little. Having been home 5 weeks now, we're doing well, though I must admit it's been a lot more difficult than we anticipated. Last week we had 19 different medical appointments, mostly here at the house. It's all you can do to keep up with it.
Meanwhile, fall continues, with beautiful orange/gold leaves on the trees like this Sugar Maple.
At one extreme tress like this have lost all their leaves, foreshadowing the look of November.
At the other extreme, this maple behind our neighbour's shed is still totally green.
And on a lot of the trees, the leaves are about half gone, like this view straight out back.
Beautiful leaves. Our sugar maples have been bare for over a week and the red maples are quickly following -- too much wet weather apparently, we're 22 inches above normal so far this year.
ReplyDeleteThe season moves very quickly at this time.
ReplyDeleteWe drove through fog into sunshine and autumn leaves along the Fraser River this morning, early. A pleasure to see crisp autumn in the sun. Tomorrow forecast is a week or so of rain.

Beautiful trees in your yard. I'm sure it is great to be home to see them.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite time of year.
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved you shifted before this all happened, knowing how much is entailed. I had forgotten. Love the leaves, and what a huge maple tree. 19 visits, that would be the limit I think.
ReplyDeleteThe autumn colours are beautiful as ever. Our trees are all at different stages too - but I think I write that every year!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting how the leaves change colours at different rates, but always beautiful.
ReplyDeletelove the changes...........kind of like us as human beings. We also go through them and even though difficult, you have shown us how you have had to do the same and bounced back like spring growth.
ReplyDelete19 appointments, I'm sure it proves very tiring.
I've been noticing those leaf extremes as well this year. Certainly not as nice an October this year as last year. With 19 medical appointments in a week I can't even begin to imagine the obstacles and hurdles you must face on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteMedical appointments tend to overwhelm most of us but as time passes they should lessen.
ReplyDeleteGreat observations. It does seem that some trees are in a greater hurry to start their winter season.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
At least you are home and together! Your view is so pretty! I hope you get done with your antibiotics and all your medical visits...well most of them anyway.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. It is the same here, some trees bare and others green.
ReplyDeleteSo, did you get snow??!!
ReplyDeleteA strange fall this year with the trees and their leaves. Same down my way.
ReplyDeleteThe autumn colours are so beautiful, I love this season.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
That's a lot of doctor visits. I hope they will diminish with time. Love your pictures. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like the richness of yellow in the maple leaves. I keep finding the same yellows in my yard but I can’t see a maple tree on the street. The wind has been blowing them for somewhere north I guess.
