Two weeks ago, on our last sunny day, was my big snowshoe walk in the woods next door. Today the sun appeared again, and it was another spectacular winter's day. But on that first hike, there were lots of interesting shadows across the trail. Here's a selection of winter shadows.
And this was the valley today, just a perfect winter's day. Snowshoed with a friend for 2 hours.
And just because I couldn't resist, a shadow selfie.
Wow! Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular doesn't even come close to describing these shadows.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful shadowy shots! When we were at the AGO yesterday, we visited the Group of Seven rooms. I commented to my husband that they must have loved painting in the winter so much because of the great shadows that play across the snow. And here you have duplicated the same effects with your camera ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shadows! So rhythmic they are almost music!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!!! You could do a whole gallery show with just these photos. We rarely have sun on snow to make shadows. Here in the Pacific Northwest if we get snow it usually stays cloudy for a few days and then the snow melts. I really enjoyed looking at your photos over and over - so many wonderful details.
ReplyDeleteThose wintery scenes bring back so many memories for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the shadows, especially the stripey ones. And I like your "shadow selfie."
ReplyDeleteYou look very tall! The shadows in the snow are ever changing throughout the day and you have captured them nicely:)
ReplyDeleteI can see some quilt designs there, and what a shadowy picture you make!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those abstract designs created by the shadows. That's an extremely tall gnome in that last picture! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the snow scapes!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful snow scenes, we had some great camping days on those kind of sunny , snowy winter days, wonderful. Great memories.

ReplyDeleteBest Wishes to you for the New Year!
Love the shadows and the selfie shadow. Doesn't the sun make a huge difference? We've got cold and wind and SUN for the next few days. :-)
