Somehow I got the focus on these just right! Even though these are all considerably cropped.
The Red Squirrel just sits under the feeder and eats seeds that fall to the snow uneaten. I fear the Chickadees drop a lot of seeds they try to carry away. And he was probably hungry after the past two days of snow squalls, which cover all the fallen seeds.

I also got out on a photography drive today in search of photos that aren't just of the snow around here. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I got 150 pix in a couple of hours, so starting in a day or two I'll have some other views of winter in the valley beyond the snow in our yard!
Very nice shot of the little one. They're a bundle of nervous energy and certainly be entertaining.
ReplyDeleteYou might think that your yard is the same every day, but the light changes, the snow sends different messages, bare trees are still beautiful, and then you will give us a lot more. Love Mr Red, what a gorgeous fellow.
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is just too cute for words...
ReplyDeleteLove the squirrel!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! It is so hard to get good shots of wildlife! Especially the small fast ones. I try to sneak up on the birds at my feeder, but most of the time they're too skittish. Except for one particular chickadee...
ReplyDeleteCute little guy! Does he try and climb up onto your bird feeder? There's a couple of fat squirrels that do that in my yard.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos . He is so cute . We don't seem to have the little red squirrels here just the grey and black one . The sun is shining again today makes the cold days a little more bearable with the sun shining doesn't it ?! . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteHello, your red squirrel is so cute. I have only seen the common gray squirrels. Wonderful collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLeave your door open and they will be less shy...!
ReplyDeleteOh, they are wonderful shots! Love the clarity and focus...so hard to do! Cute things...we have a few, too. Can't feed them enough! haha. I don't think the birds appreciate them, though....hogging the feeders like they do!
ReplyDeleteNo cuter critter than a red squirrel! You got some great shots of one, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week-end!
Hi Furry!

Excellent shots of the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteYour photography was always good but your shots now are just extraordinary. I feel as if you kept improving while I plateaued. Love your red squirrel and will look forward to future posts after your outing today!
