November Sunrise

For a few weeks before the daylight savings change, the sun comes up so late in the morning (about 8), that I'm actually up to see the sunrise!  Here's a day when the sun and clouds decided to cooperate.

It was a small bit of brilliant pink sky.

But I tricked you, that was just a close-up; most of the sky was a gray bank of clouds overhead.

I went back to the kitchen to make the morning coffee, and happened to glance out the other side of the house - there were bright pink clouds there too!  These were taken facing west.

Those bright clouds drifted rapidly eastward over the house,

And soon they were mixing with the original sunrise I had seen in the east.

Then the sun slipped up behind that gray bank of clouds, and it was as if someone had simply shut the door on the light.  Sunrise over.

  1. Beautiful colours. You're further west than us, so you'll be getting the sunrise a bit later than we do.

  8. Such beautiful pinks! Thank you for the lovely views, FG. I am still not sleeping very well but will slowly recover my equilibrium. As a proud Democrat, I feel pretty discouraged. So thank you for the pretty skies! :-)

  9. Love the pink skies! I saw the same as you...the pink in the west can be as beautiful as the sunrise. (I'm in Manitoba)
