Today 6 years ago our oldest son William was killed while flying his water bomber over a forest fire in northern Alberta, caught in a fire tornado. I miss him more every year.
William, your legacy of bravery with the water bomber planes, your memory and the huge love from your family will always be true to those left behind,
Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear Too long for those who grieve, Too short for those who rejoice,] But for those who love, Time is eternity. Fondest love to you and Mrs F G today especially.XXX
I remember when this happened. I grieved for his loss then, and I still grieve today, along with many others who care about heroes like William gone too soon. :-(
i'm glad that i did not miss this post, this opportunity to remember william and acknowledge his contribution and sacrifice. grief is a universal experience, it is a deeply felt emotion, unique to each of us. sending some hugs during this very sad time!!
I just started following your blog when you lost your son. I am so sorry for the loss and wish you comfort. I lost my first wife forty years ago and I still remember even when life moved on.
And of course a day like this looms large each year. RIP, William.
