Last Sunday afternoon we visited friends out in the country, friends who have a wonderful garden. Like ourselves they are plant collectors, always interested in new plants for the garden. And like us (previously), they work together on their garden, putting in a lot of work over the summer months! This is another of those posts that features my love of bright colours.
Right along the edge of their driveway are these bright Marigolds and Petunias to greet you. I was immediately drawn to them.
There were big patches of bright yellow False Sunflowers in the back. Their plants are actually organized with the shortest in front and tallest in behind.
The frog looks like someone painted spots on it. Love the bright Petunias. I plant them also. Glad you are getting out and about.

Ahh, blueberry cobbler -- sounds good, was the ice cream vanilla? That would make it absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers, lovely colour.
ReplyDelete... and I like that frog!
All the best Jan
Cute frog! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlorious colour and so pretty. What a lovely place for a visit.
ReplyDeleteYou guys get out and about so much! Lucky for us that you often take us along!
ReplyDeleteThe size of those petunia plants, stunning colours too.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see this final burst of colour as we slither into autumn to a whole range of different colours - a portent, however, of a single colour - white!
ReplyDeleteThose are indeed birth colors. I think I should plant petunias again. I missed this year as I usually just buy a plant or two for containers rather than trying to plant a bunch from seed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely array of colour! Good to enjoy them now! cheers
ReplyDeleteBlueberry cobbler - yummy. Gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! And I like the frog too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers that are not showing any sign of slowing down. My annuals are looking tired and I can see that very soon I'll be pulling them out.
ReplyDeleteHaving an interest in photography definitely enhances one's enjoyable appreciation of color.
ReplyDeletewow, they have beautiful flowers, it sounds like they know how to plan things out. the yellow flowers look like daylilies-stella de oro, but i'm not sure. my gardens look terrible right now, everything is fading and dying off!!
