Seen Around the Neighbourhood

To continue my post about focussing on things I can see nearby, here are a few more things I've spotted that seem worthy of note.

A pot of Geraniums on our own deck.

A boulder on a neighbour's lawn.  I always think this looks like a monster, frozen in stone.

The dead end sign at the end of the cul-de-sac.  This actually has big implications for my wheelchair rides, as we get no through traffic.

An old Purple Martin house, now leaning and far too crowded among trees to attract any Purple Martins!

Our neighbour's beautiful pink Magnolia.

And that field of bright yellow Dandelions?  All gone to seed and turned white.

  2. Great boulder. I love rocks. To me it looks like the head of a gray whale with the mouth and eye showing. I saved my geraniums from last year and have them resting in the condo. Once I get their deck pots repainted at the cabin I'll bring them up for another summer in the sun. - Margy

  3. Dandelions from start to finish have great appeal to me.

  4. That rock certainly does look like a monster, whale or large fish. The first thing that came to mind was a coelacanth, that ancient sort-of-fish that was believed to have been extinct for millions of years. Nice geraniums, the deer eat any we put in the flowerbeds.

  6. That rock is totally cool. I didn't see the monster until you pointed it out, and now I can't NOT see it. Love the pink magnolias. :-)

  8. I'm glad to see you have some great things to look at close to home. I especially love that dandelion meadow, even without the dandelions.

  10. I think that rock is a rare 'Stone Grouper' once known to have inhabited the Meaford area long before the last ice age. The Pleistocene Epoch era I believe:)) You have a good eye for ancient history.

My geraniums are a beautiful pink too, a new choice for me this year.
Funny how I've seen many dead end signs but yours looks like we should be playing a game of checkers. :)
A white dandelion, up close gave me a different perspective yesterday too.

    Take care.
