First Light

For about 2 minutes, it looked like we were going to have a beautiful sunrise.  The first light lit up the line of trees out the back window in the distance.  But then the clouds moved in, and it's been a dark rainy day ever since!

  1. It was a great start. Clouds tend to just move in for your sake to destroy the atmosphere. That is a nice orange color.

  3. We started out sunny, so the weather came east a few hours after yours, because we ended up with brooding clouds and snow.

  5. The very same thing happened to us here in Bayfield and I'm sure it was about the very same time.

  6. I love it when the light comes under the clouds to light up trees, especially in fall when the leaves glow like gold. - Margy

  8. It landed in here like a bucket of misery. Freezing rain and snow mix. Made for a difficult drive home at about 25 km. hr.

  9. I hate it when a sunrise teases you like that.

  10. Absolutely stunning. We call those "river trees" because when we lived in northern California there was a river across the fields from our house and in the evening, just at sunset - even it had been a cloudy day - the sun would shine just enough to light the trees up along the river. So when we see that same affect we always look at each other and say "river trees".
