As I drive around it seems that the tree leaves are turning fast now, most of them to yellow rather than red, but still there's a colourful beauty around us now that will only last for two or three weeks. These pictures are taken nearby but beyond our own street.
Two beautiful trees just around the corner.Wednesday I undertook an expedition to our local cemetery, beautiful at this time of year. I had the driver drop me off there, I spent 45 minutes taking pictures, and then I rode home, a long but enjoyable ride. The next couple of posts will feature some of those photos.
Beautiful colors. A lot of the leaves have come down today. Rain and very windy!!
ReplyDeleteLovely colours in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Very, very yellow, beautiful nonetheless. Down here burning bush is an invasive exotic plant that dominates the understory of some woodlands. It eliminates native wildflowers and does nothing for wildlife -- but it certainly is pretty in the fall.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are able to get out still and enjoy the colours.
ReplyDeleteMaples are such amazing trees in so many ways! Their autumn colour is one!
ReplyDeleteLeaves don't hang around very long for you to see and enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteYou have pictures of leaves with such strong colors. We are still pale in comparison. Some trees start dropping them as soon as they turn. Great shots.

ReplyDeleteYes, it is the finest colorful time of year again.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a lot of yellows around this year and fewer red trees that are holding on to their leaves.
ReplyDeleteOur trees have all pretty much shed their finery. When I was down to Peterborough last week, there was still some pretty spectacular scenery.
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to keep looking more closely. Driving around I sometimes see pretty trees, but there's nowhere to pull over. Getting on the ground does help, and the slower approach provides more opportunities to frame leaves and trees in contrasts...as you've done so well here.
ReplyDeleteWhere we are in the North Island we do get some lovely autumn leaf colours but in the far south they are so much deeper, more like what your pics show today, Those golden yellows are wonderful, but the burning bush is glorious, Hugh always said a tractor drive would give us more time to see the scenery. Guess your chair does just that. Hope we see more as your colder days are more intense.
ReplyDeleteOddly you are not that far ahead of us although you are north of us. This season fills us all with renewd energy, does it not?
