There's an interesting area behind our shed that I can't get to, nor see, so Mrs, F.G. went out the other evening to take some pictures there. It was evening and the sun was shining its long slanted rays across the ground providing beautiful light. Lots of rich greens.
In fact this area is almost entirely green. The Solomon's seal does have delicate little flowers, but the plants and the big ferns are totally green. My favourite are the ferns, all Ostrich Fern, which are doing really well. These were moved from our previous home, along with a lot of hostas.
The whole area is full of rich greens, no showy bright flowers here, probably a good thing since it's in the shade almost all day.
She took one other shot showing the more colourful part of the garden, the Peonies, with a different view of the golf course beyond.
I love the greens. I’m sorry that you can’t get to see them firsthand.
ReplyDeleteLovely! My ferns are doing exceptionally well this year too. Our heat and rain have been good for them.
ReplyDeleteThe ferns are such a wonderful addition! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Solomon's Seal blooms...they are something! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteYour Solomon's Seal is huge, mine do not grow as large, and do not have so many of those beautiful drooping flower stems either. Greenery is always beautiful, and those ferns must thrive behind the shed.
ReplyDeleteMrs FG has such a beautiful garden. She certainly knows her plants.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
If you like ferns you'd love it out back of my house. We have LOTS of ferns growing wild.
ReplyDeleteThe gardens around your house are gorgeous!!
I like areas of mainly green. They have a charm all their own.
ReplyDeleteMy father had a habit of throwing any plants that failed to do well in the space behind his shed. Naturally, nature being as contrary as it is, here they flourished and produced a crowded and peculiar mix of flowers and greenery - though nowhere near as attractive as you have behind your shed!
ReplyDeleteOstrich Ferns occupy an entire corner of our backyard, a lovely addition to any garden.
ReplyDeleteI love all the different kinds of greenery in your yard. I'm not a fan of hostas but the fern! Now, that grabbed my attention! Have a great week coming up.
ReplyDeleteYour 'behind the shed' view is a whole lot nicer than most have, ours included! Your gardens are lovely and Mrs. F.G. should be very proud of her planning and efforts to keep it that way. ♥
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and, as you said, so GREEN. Thank you to Mrs. FG for taking them. And to you for sharing them with me.
ReplyDeleteA lovely garden and while we appreciate the colors we forget that texture and size are also lovely.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful "very green" area!! the hostas and peonies are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI"ve noticed as well how big the ferns are this year and here at our place they are really multiplying. Yes, lots of shades of green everywhere. In my opinion, June is the lushest month of the year. Summer's heat hasn't browned anything and Springs freshness is still evident.
ReplyDeleteImpressive solomon's-seal and the hosta leaves below your window are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe ferns are looking good.
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful!
