And the Same This Year!

The snow vanished remarkably fast overnight.  Sometimes it does that, if the temperature stays high, and last night it did.  The snowier of each picture pair below was taken on Monday morning, the others today.  Soring is here!

The big view.

The planter.

Our chairs.

And the ostrich, which has emerged to enjoy 6 months of warmer weather.  Even though we will have more snow, it won't last.  You can already see plants poking up in the garden, and Mrs. F.G. is already suggesting where we can remove more sod and expand the plantings.

  4. Looks like our place after the last three days; there's snow up on the hill, but not much. Hope you got outside to bask in the sun.

  5. A few warm days will do that. We had rain too so that really makes the snow go away fast!

  6. What a difference! We've had some depletion of the snowpack, but the temperatures are going to be dropping sharply again tomorrow night.

  8. Not sure if I have ever seen so much snow vanish so fast. Nice to see bare earth again even if its brown and muddy.

  9. What a welcome transformation! Your photos demonstrate the dramatic change from one day to the next. After this long year of Covid-related hardships, this warmer weather feels like a healing balm.

  10. That snow melted so quickly! Next thing you know flowers will be showing some green tips.

  11. I always find the North American use of sod funny. Especially a van I spotted labelled Sods & Sodding. Of course in the U.K. sodding is used as a (fairly) mild swear word.

  12. I got my wish here in Nashville....I saw a good snow. When I say good I mean 3.5 inches, that is basically the best we get here and that usually only appears every five or more yrs. We had a mild winter but our worst hit us all in one week. Cold rain, temps below our normals (like minus 3), freezing rain, sleet and then snow. ONE WEEK, then it was gone and spring popped out a few weeks later! Nice pics. Flowers will be coming up soon and spring will be upon you.

  13. I am probably wrong, but I don't think I can recall it ever going so fast. Not that it is ALL gone, but it has been remarkable.
