Five years ago this week we had a similar week of sudden warmth and melting snow, leaving the land showing through the white. I'm taking you back to that week today and maybe for a few more days too. I know you like comparison pictures, so here are a few from our last home, taken this week in 2016.
The driveway.
The side yard.
Looking southeast.
And the back yard.I don't think our week of warmth will accomplish quite as much melting this year, but it's still a very similar week. Here's hoping that streetsweeper makes it out soon!
March can play lots of tricks on us. I'm hoping we don't see snow again!
ReplyDeleteI won't miss winter, but I will mis the tracks in the snow! cheerio
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I do enjoy comparison pictures. These are all fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood comparison photos. It's that time of year when balmy days can be followed by heavy snow or vice versa. Our daffodils were up about an inch beneath the snow, which has now mostly melted.
ReplyDeleteProgress has been made. I've got a before picture and am waiting until after the predicted rain tomorrow to see what we shall see.
ReplyDeleteComparison pictures are always interesting and especially at this time of year when landscapes can quickly change.
ReplyDeleteThe snow can go quickly when it starts. Wish ours was disappearing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference there was.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are just itching to get rolling down the street!
ReplyDeleteI like to compare as well. Seeing what it was like at the Ridge in past years on the same date.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask, that was within one week? Wow! We had melting this weekend and then a dump of snow Tuesday. Today is cold but then the warmer air is back. Fool's spring perhaps?
ReplyDeleteThis was within 4 days, Mon-Thur. this week.
Deletewhat a difference 4 days makes, i enjoyed these comparisons!!
