Too Busy to Blog - Out Riding!

It's been just too unbelievably beautiful for early November to stay inside!  I've been out riding every day over the past week, with Mrs. F.G. coming along twice herself.  With the other time limitations that come from being paralyzed (early to bed and late to rise. tied to caregivers' schedules), I've skipped posting more often than ever.  But rest assured, I've been having a great time.  We've or I have been:

- downtown to the harbour, twice,

- along stretches of the Georgian Trail, twice, and

- around the usual streets in the neighbourhood, twice.

Here's the first of those outings, a trip down to the harbour last Thursday.

The R.A. Hoey was still sitting there as always, but two other tugs had disappeared.

The ropes always interest me.  This tie-down was fairly neat.

But this was a messy jumble of 4 different ropes from two boats.

Don't know how often these old wooden block and tackle get used anymore.

Along behind me were quite a few fishermen (and fisherwomen) on that day.

But as I headed on down the sidewalk I should have known what was coming.  The weekend's storm had thrown lots of rocks and debris up over the sidewalk and onto the road.

A little further and my way was blocked by debris.  With a six inch curb in one direction and rock-strewn grass in the other I decided to turn around.

Further down I could see more rocks thrown up by the waves, and the little park that is my usual destination was fenced off again.

Even the raised flowerbed was covered in rocks.

But out in the bay one dedicated sailboat was going for a very late-season sail.

  2. That's quite the wave power to throw up so many large rocks!

  6. These are bonus days alright and especially at this time of year. No humidity, no bugs, no problem. Well, except for the obstacles in your way. Good to see you getting out with your camera.
