Remembrance Day

On this Remembrance Day here in Canada, we remember those who have served in the military, but also those Police Officers, Firefighters and First Responders who have given their lives in service - including our son William who gave his life when his water bomber crashed in a fire tornado near Cold Lake Alberta.  Never forget.

  1. This day would have that effect on you. I passed by the national memorial back in the middle of October and took a moment by his name.

  3. Never Forget! Far too many do forget and just see this day as a day off from work or school. It's far too easy for those who have never been in the military, or had a loved one who was, or fought fires, or faced armed lawbreakers to forget that others do all of those things, not for themselves but for others.

  4. Thank you for reminding us. My father was killed in a small war 53 years ago.
By the way, I think I actively disliked those crisps! That doesn’t often happen.

  6. Beautiful post, I'm sure my brother has seen this marker in Hinton. So sad but so much pride, I'm sure.

  7. It is only proper to honour those that dedicated their lives to protect others.

  8. This is really difficult, isn't it? I am so sorry for your loss. What a hero, though, helping people.
