October Skies

I was driving back from Owen Sound yesterday and realized how beautiful the clouds were, blowing quickly across a blue blue sky.  A few barns managed to sneak into these shots too.

Still expecting some snow overnight tonight.  The 'Special Weather Statement'  has changed to a 'Snow Squall Warning', with villages near us forecast to get 15-20 cm., and the snow may continue tomorrow night.  Low visibility is likely at times, and unnecessary driving is not recommended.  Our latitude is south of Portland Oregon, and someplace in the south of France, but sometimes I think we're the northernmost place around!

  2. Me too! Big skies are wonderful. Sadly in London we suffer from small skies - if there is such an expression!

  4. Area skies sure have undergone many mood swings these past couple of October weeks. I always enjoy seeing seasonal change in the sky & those many cloud patterns sure can make for some great photographs..

  6. Gorgeous skies, clouds and farms. All favourite topics for my camera too. I hope the snow isn't as bad as forecasted - 15 to 20 cm. is too much too soon. Maybe you'll get some photos of it to share. :)

  8. i am not sure i have ever seen better skies, the clouds are exceptional!!! there is nothing better than a red barn, that picture is really beautiful, frame, postcard worthy!!!

ps....the images on my blog today were not cropped. the birds come in very close because the feeders are suctioned cupped to the windows. they make a pit stop in the tree by the window and then come in. i open my office window and they don't usually fly off when i hang out the window. believe me, it has become very easy to get these pictures. there is also a deck rail right there that i load with food, fruit and peanuts, the other window gives me a great opportunity to get the jays. i have been feeding them for 12 years, i do believe they would probably eat right out of my hand if i tried. my husband set the whole feeding station up for me when i started working from home. he is one of the kindest people i know!!! have a great weekend!!

  9. The skies above you are just stunning and coupled with the autumnal rusty colours of the trees is wonderful. I hope you manage to avoid the snow - it's a little too early for the white stuff to fall yet! Take care and thanks for your visit to my blog.
