More From the Garden

Before I take you back down to the harbour, let me finish updating you on our garden.  We've got lots of plants in bloom now, and more coming, especially those Day Lilies.  And today we got back to church for the first time in months!

It's a perfect day and I was up early enough to sit outside with my coffee before church.  Another glorious bloom was out on the big yellow Day Lily.

I snapped an early morning picture of the white Poppies.  A few days ago Mrs. F.G. had taken the camera and got a serious close-up.

I've never seen Potato blooms before up close, and never realized how similar they are to Tomato blooms.

We have a new Rose too.  It's a small Rose, with numerous pinkish flowers; it promises to be a nice addition to the garden.

And this is our big Clematis, growing up on the wall of the shed.  It's actually two plants, the white and the purple one, but they look good together.  This is three years old now; for most of the garden the plants are just one year old.

Both the white and purple blossoms are quite striking on their own.

But the spots where they are mixed together appeal to me the most.  These last 4 pix are by Mrs. F.G.

Our Minister portrayed the lockdown that is just ending here as a 'blessed pause' rather than a burden, which I liked.  As I've said before, the lockdown is not that different from everyday life for me (so stop complaining).

And Happy July the 34th to my American readers!

  5. Beautiful! I'm especially loving the way those clematis grow together. I must plant two on my garage for next year.

  11. Really liked those flower close-ups and especially the Clematis. I wished we had a enough available sunlight here to grow Clemmies like you do. Great idea to combine the white and purple together.

  12. Those clematis go well together. Who would have thought that potato flowers would be that attractive?
