Hello!

Forgot to share myself posing on the deck when I was outside while Mrs. F.G. was working on the planter boxes last week, so here I am, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

My new resting position, with my leg in a zimmer splint.  No end to the medical adventures!  We've now figured out an arrangement of straps that also holds my foot up straight rather than flopping over.  This has had the added bonus of making it much easier to go through doors.  As you can tell it was a sunny day but with a cool breeze so I was dressed to stay warm.

A close look at the carefully designed and appropriately coloured mask that Mrs. F.G. made for me.  So far I've only used it for the visit to the hospital, since I don't otherwise go out in public anyway.

A fifth morning in a row here with some snow on the ground this morning, but it has turned sunny and the temperature is going up at least to 5 or 6 degrees.  But the next two weeks look much more like spring - except for a cool spell on Tuesday and Wednesday it looks like 9 or 10 degrees right through to May 1st.  That will bring us almost up to the average for late April.  Thank goodness!  I'm ready for it.

  2. Well, by the looks of all the masks I have seen over the past number of weeks I like yours the best. Guess it's the colors that snagged me. I can see where narrow doorways could be a problem snagging your right foot. There is no wrong foot, right?? A little play on words there:)) Yes I too will be glad to see an end to this persistent cold April weather. Will be nice for us guys to get our short sleeve shirts on again. Nice bright red coat. Hope the neighboring farmer doesn't put his Bull out in the field next to ya.

  3. You look good all bundled and masked. I use a dust mask with my sanding of wood and that makes me too warm and it is hard to breathe. I saw a woman at the grocery store wearing a dust mask, blue, and I just smiled.

  4. Yes, that is a fine mask indeed. And it matches your color palette. I can see why it's been so hard to get through doors looking at that leg. But I'm sure glad to see you can still get out for some fresh air! :-)

  6. Summer dressing will be a breeze after this, what a grand outfit from top to toes. I have found so many mask patterns, and finally one that fits so well, but yours looks like fleece, a great idea. Thank goodness Mrs F.G. has the fabric on hand, and the know how to get your face all dolled up!!!

  8. Very smart, quite the best-dressed bank-robber I've seen for a long time. I don't know if you've thought about it but coats can be adapted to make them easier to get on by cutting them up the back. Then you can just put your arms through and tuck the jacket in behind you. A lot easier if you just want to go outside for a short time.

    1. I bought this jacket because I can actually do it up in front sitting in the chair.

  15. Hello!! I'm sure you're in there somewhere! :) I looked very similar on my walk yesterday too with the exception that my feet moved without wheels. I'm glad you are able to get outside and watch Mrs. F.G. putter with the beds.

  16. Hello! That reminds me of when I had a spare (wandering) bone removed from my foot. About 25 years ago now... how time flies. A cousin came to stay to “take care” of me and she put a stool in the bathroom so I could sit on the loo with my leg stuck out straight in front of me. It was so comfortable I left the stool in place for several years until a friend pointed out that it was rather inconvenient for everyone else. It was the best thing the cousin ever did. She made it her mission to buy me lots of healthy fish which I detest and never eat. Although I guess I would if I were invited to dinner by the Queen. We are still in Switzerland and mostly it’s still hot and sunny x
