Happy Easter!

Like many others I'm sure, I've been sitting here thinking about family at Easter. Since we can't get together with the family this year it's a matter of memories. But those memories are still very special and most of them about quite recent visits.

We've had a good conversation with both our daughter out in British Columbia and our son who lives over near Lake Huron. Our daughter has been busy coordinating shipping containers that are currently sailing around the world with various fruit products, while our son has been getting his garden  ready for the summer in between his days on the job. He designs and installs heating systems and furnaces.

So even though we're apart like so many families  this Easter, it still feels like it's been a good Easter and the yellow pansies staring at me from outside the living room window are brightening the day.

Hope you're all having an equally good Easter!

  1. Family is always good for us, would that is would be for everyone. The daffodils, Chinodoxa and hyacinths are blooming in the garden and the Easter Bunny(actually a cottontail)is nibbling grass in the lawn -- spring has sprung. Our daughter lives but 30 miles away, we saw her yesterday -- she sat on her stoop and we sat in the driveway while we all ate a picnic supper. Our two older granddaughters and their husbands live many hours away as does our son and his family, so it will probably be next year until we see any of them.

  4. Easter is very quiet here for the same reason your's is quiet. I have a son on the west coast and a daughter in Chicago. I miss them.

  5. It started out depressing for me because it was raining and there was no place to go. But the rain stopped and I sat in the sun for a while, felt better. Took a short ride to take some photos. Got the car washed too because a grumpy cardinal keeps messing up the windshield, even though I covered the mirror.

  6. Thank you for your Easter greetings. It's been a very odd and quiet weekend here, though the dawn chorus of birds just outside my window made for a cheery interlude.

  8. Happy Easter Stew, we were able to video chat with all of are kids today, also sisters and brothers. For us, it has been since last fall when we saw them last. Praying that this will be over sooner then later. Take care, stay safe and healthy.

  9. We lived some distance from my side of the family for almost 4 decades. Our only child stayed in Texas following grad school. Hubby's family had dwindled as cousins moved to other areas for their lives. And those that remained had all passed away. Only 3 cousins remained nearby. We had become somewhat accustomed to very small gatherings and at times just being alone, together. It was pleasant to see our son as he dropped off a special Easter meal for us. I had Easter bags of candy for all the grandkids that waited on the patio table. I stepped by the required distance while he left the sacks of food. He took the candy bags, we had an air hug and that was the Easter celebration. Life as good as we still have no one with the virus.
