Back to the Bay

Last night we went for our first post-hospital adventure.  it was just a local drive down to the shoreline of Georgian Bay, but we stopped and picked up a pizza which we shared sitting in the car.  Then I drove the chair out and we headed down the sidewalk toward the inner harbour.  I got a selection of pictures of the bay.

I thought this panoramic shot turned out well.  All photos are with my iphone7.  I haven't got back to my big camera yet.

Mackerel clouds hung over the grey water of the bay.

Friday was the day of high winds and the Ottawa tornadoes as a cold front went through.  I should have come down to the shore to watch the waves.  These rocks were thrown up about 50 feet from the waterline by the waves.  Good thing I wasn't sitting on that bench!

The gulls disperse along the shore during the day, but as sunset approached they gathered on the roof of a marina building to catch the last rays of the sun.

I've never seen the Glen G in harbour before, but it was a nice looking ship.

  1. I saw elsewhere on Facebook that the Peninsula got some high winds and active weather from that system as well. The rocks seen here really bring that home. Excellent shots!

  2. That was really a special adventure. Pizza and touring the area with your chair was marvelous. The area was beautiful and I learned a new name for a cloud formation. I am glad the journey went well.

  3. Very nice cloud photos, that iphone does a nice job. Glad to hear you got out and about -- and didn't go down to the shore to be washed out to "sea" in the wind and waves.

  7. An outing together, what an occasion. Rocks, and huge waves, must have been quite a storm. Down here, winds, hail, rain in huge amounts for a short time, and now sunshine. We continue to pack, and continue even more to look.

Never knew the name for those clouds, Mackerel. I'll try and remember that when I see them next. They are so pretty, like cotton balls.

  18. I commented last night --but Blogger wouldn't take it.... Hopefully today, my comment will go in. I am SO happy for you and your progress. I am sure that it was fantastic just to be outside seeing all of this beauty and photographing it...

I use my iPhone a lot these days --and am pleased with the pictures. The main thing my Canon does better is the 300 mm lens ZOOM...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  21. I also tried to comment last night, but Blogger wouldn't let me post my comment. Then, I learned that Safari could be the problem, so I tried Chrome, and here I am back to commenting. I have been following your journey and so thrilled to see that you had this opportunity for an outing. It makes my heart happy to see these photos and read your post.

The photos are wonderful. I use my iPhone most of the time. It just seems to much work to lug around a big camera.

Nice to see your great photos again. My camera died a while back and I've been taking all my pictures with my phone. I like phone pictures but do miss my camera.
