Scarecrow Invasion!

Meaford's Scarecrow Invasion is this weekend.  Scarecrows are hanging from streetlights downtown, and dancing around a few bits of open space.  It's an enormous amount of work considering that the scarecrows get new clothes each year.

These three are right here on our own street.  The scarecrows go into hibernation again Oct.15th, so I can share a few more before then.

The evening before it looked like we might get a good sunset too, so we went searching for it.  Not quite a colourful sunset, but interesting cloud formations nonetheless.

  1. Those are pretty cute scarecrows. They do look as if they have brand spanking new clothes.

  2. Read all your posts - went way back and then forward. Scarecrows dressed up - sounds like a tradition. See you next post.

  6. I love the homemade scarecrows. I always wanted to make one but never did, ended up buying some like the ones in two of your pictures. Therefore, the top one is my favourite today. Love the cloud formations, making up for a colourful sunset. :)

  8. I wonder if any of those Scarecrows happen to hang out with a Tin Man and a Lion sometimes. Might want to check around town for a yellow brick road somewhere. Oh, and keep your eye on the sky in case an old house happens to go flying by.

  9. Love seeing those adorable scarecrows! And that gorgeous mackerel sky as well. It's wonderful to have you back with photos, but I enjoyed every single one of the "naked" ones, too. :-)

  12. Lovely photos and I am glad to see your back into taking them to . I have a few scarecrows of my own here and there on my fall wreaths. The sun sets to early now for my liking but I am enjoying the cooler fresh air and the change in the land . Thanks for sharing , have a good day .
