It rained a bit this morning, but the past several days have been beautiful. It's just the right combination of warm temperatures, plenty of shady spots to sit, and cool breezes. I must admit that my own temperature preference has gone wonky - I actually enjoy sitting in the sunny spots and staying warm.
We've had several three trip outside days. Mrs. F.G. Is here Thursday Friday Saturday mornings so we pick up our coffee downstairs and head for the picnic shelter. Some days a little treat gets included too. Once we have finished our coffee we wander further down the garden to see what the raisedbeds have visiting. It's mostly bumblebees these days, but the cabbage whites are still fluttering around.
The tree leaves are fluttering in the breeze. And I just sit and relax usually meditating on the future. The third trip outside is in the evening after dinner and I'm just about to head out myself. But the sun is setting earlier and the shadow spreads across much of the garden by six leaving only one or two spots where I can just sit in the sun in the evening.
I've written this entire post using the voice activation. It's working better than I expected maybe it's going to replace the need to type with my clumsy fingers in the future.
It's good that technology can help you to continue blogging with more ease. Our friend Jeanne uses it all the time to write and answer email. In fact, she uses her Apple watch to do it all. Wayne has an Apple watch but doesn't know how to use it for those kinds of features. My old Timex works good enough for me. I have some good news to share. About nine months ago we applied for Canadian citizenship after having lived in Powell River for ten years as permanent residents. On August 31 we were invited to take our oath of Canadian citizenship in Parksville on Vancouver Island. It was a very moving ceremony and we are so happy that we can now call Canada our forever home. - Margy
ReplyDeleteyeah for voice activation! So glad it has worked for you! I hope all is going well and you are on target for getting home! :)
ReplyDeleteI sometimes use voice activation, but many times it decides I didn't really mean to say that and changes my words. Mostly, however, it works well. It's been beautiful here, too, not too hot and not too cold. Perfect. Glad to hear it's the same there. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad the voice activation is working for you but the typing was good therapy for your fingers.
ReplyDeleteNice to share those special moments with Mrs. FG.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I'm so glad the weather has been conducive to a 3 trip outing in a day. You're right though, the sun is setting earlier bringing the darkness over us like a blanket. I'm not ready for that yet! Please say hello to Mrs. F.G. for us.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that the voice activation works for you! You are really stepping up in this modern tekky world. Me too! I use it a lot for texting but I have to remember to proofread. I've said some pretty strange things! I found nothing wrong with your typing, by the way. :)
Cool that you're using voice activation.
ReplyDeleteWell that voice activation sure sounds like quite the thing. Can't imagine how it works but it sure has be a huge benefit for many people. We live in an amazingly technical world and what a bonus it is for folks who can readily tap into it. Learning all these challenging new things for you right now has to have it's difficulties but it also has to have it's great rewards.
ReplyDeleteI expect that your ability to find pleasure in the smallest pleasures, like watching bees in the flowers or finding a warm spot in the sun, should help you endure and thrive in your changed circumstances. What a great help the voice activated device should be!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun few days with Mrs. FG, now this vice activation is a wonderful program that is helping you use your computer. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHello, sounds like a lovely way to spend your mornings with Mrs FG. I prefer a warm sunny spot to sit too.
ReplyDeleteThe voice activation is a great new tool, I am glad it is available. Enjoy your day and new week ahead!
Happy meditations.

Hi FG. I've been absent again for a while and not visiting but published two posts this weekend and started visiting some of my old 'friends' in blog land. I played a bit of catchup on your blog and I'm so very sorry that you are so incapacitated by paralysis. I didn't realize how seriously ill you are. Technology is a wonderful thing and I'm glad you are finding a way to use voice activation to blog. I think that's really quite amazing for you. God bless you with continued healing and strength. My best wishes to you. Pam

ReplyDeleteSo pleased that the voice recognition is working well for you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
That's great: voice to text. I had a client, with ALS, who did text to speech!
