Usually they just keep on grazing, or lying down in the grass and totally ignore passers-by.
But this group clearly decided I was interesting, and they didn't want to leave either. I finally moved on and left them to their pasture.
Up the road aways I had also snapped some pictures of the Alpacas, hoping they would come closer, but they were totally uninterested. Lots of fences in the background of this paddock though. The square block of pasture has been divided into at least 4 pie-shaped paddocks, each with its own entry gate and shelter.
Only the youngest one looked my direction. These ones have been recently shorn of their wool.

ReplyDeleteWell the young alpaca must be wondering what you're up to. I remember the farm field behind our property- when the cows on the farm were grazing back in that area, they'd occasionally wander up to the fence.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, were you carrying some yummy treats or perhaps speaking sweetly to them, as they sure are focused on who is this taking our picture! Very sweet.
