Ice Curtains

As the cold weather continues, the icicles on the trees down by the harbour build into ice curtains.  The wind varies day by day, along with the waves, and each layer of water adds to the picture.

These pictures have grown on me.  Particular corners of the pictures appeal to me the most. and with some judicious cropping, I've zeroed in on those.  I wonder how long these will last.

The Context - the two iciest trees.

  1. The subtle pale turquoises and pinks with the frozen sculptures - wonderful. Thank you again for sharing.

  3. Twin trees, almost identical, and so much water blown and frozen instantly? Stunning.

  5. Just love your trees, although they make me feel cold to look at them. I got home late last night and am trying to get back on my usual schedule. Commenting on posts is one I've missed on a daily basis. It's been hit and miss. :-)

  7. You did a good job on those ice sculptures Stu. Gotta watch out for those icy wave splashes or you could get frozen to the spot and become a spectacularly interesting ice sculpture yourself. People would come from miles around to take photos of the amazing Furry Gnome:))
