Garden Report

We've had some beautiful sunny days, but some cool temperatures and cold nights still.  The flowers struggle through it to bloom though, so we're getting there!

A good numbr of our Pasque Flowers got taken out by the frost, snow and ice, but a few that were still in bud have survived and are blooming now.  I think this beautiful purple one is a new one this year.

These are some bright Spring Anemones.

Our Hyacinth have just come into bloom the past 24 hours, and I think they're pretty chilly tonight..

Besides the flowers, the Rhubarb has burst through the leaf mulch and is spreading its leaves rapidly.  I love the very wrinkly leaves at this stage of growth, and it won't be long til I'm tasting that wonderful Rhubarb flavour!

    You are way ahead of us on the east coast. Nothing is in bloom yet. The rhubarb hasn't appeared either. The pictures are beautiful.

    Hi Furry....
    Those Anemones are beautiful...I have Summer Anemones....
    A few daffodils and Scillia blooming here and at the cottage...
    Looks like a crummy week weather wise,,,

    I too like the wrinkled rhubarb leaves. That purple is very pretty-nice and deep.

    Such beautiful floweers and love the play of light and shade in the first two images. The rhubarb leaves look so robust.

    Wonderful! I love the hellebores and the anemones. We had a cold weekend with some hail, but we're slowly getting flowers here as well.

    I was so surprised to see my Lenten roses blooming in late January and continuing their emergence and blossoms until March! We are certainly a month ahead of you her on the mid-Atlantic coast of the USA. Our nights finally stay above freezing and the days are now perfect. I hang on to them as our summers are far more sweltering than yours.

    Its nice to see all the new growing and blooming in the spring isn't it ? My in laws Rhubarb is almost ready to harvest another week or so and it will be Rhubarb picking time YUMMY ! Strawberry and rhubarb pie oh my lol ! Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

    Oh I love Anemones so much!!! We got nothing yet. Nada. Maybe a few shy blades from the hyacinth, maybe a lone tulip leaf in the far sunny corner. But nothing blooming as yet.
