Shortly after we drove through the woods and saw the New England Asters we reached the Misty Meadows Market in Conn. It features veggies and flowers outside, and a range of food and dry goods inside. We've been stopping here since it was a Mennonite gentleman with a horse and buggy at the side of the road; it's nice to see what it's become.
Fall mums are popular around here, and they had lots.
I do miss that place. Thank-you for sharing your pictures, got a chuckle out of the "watermelons" C
ReplyDeleteIt all looks top quality produce - even if they don't know what a watermelon is! I'm lucky in that I have a farm shop just down the road from me.
ReplyDeleteQuite productive!
ReplyDeleteThe markets are busy this time of year!
ReplyDeleteNice market! The colors and condition of all the veg and flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to our downtown market since well before I retired. The parking situation is ridiculous.
The array of produce is amazing, and what a way to get your veges, fresh, home grown, and no middle man to mark up the prices. Best of all, flowedrs that have several varieties in each bunch.Enjoy those autumn days.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever eaten a fresh pea. They must be delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely market! Well done! I saw that watermelon sign is looked twice.
ReplyDeleteThe harvest looks great. Cabbage was one thing my mom always grew herself. The whole country shop area is so inviting. We have a downtown market each Saturday that is so popular.
ReplyDeleteI'm also enjoying all the colourful produce available right now. That market seems to have it all.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great.
ReplyDeleteStrange looking watermelon. :)
I love all the colors and those flowers and veggies have Autumn written all over them. I thought that was a bin of cabbagemelons:)) And hey, how about this welcome cooler weather eh.....
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if we'll bother with the traditional planter or two of mums this year.
ReplyDeleteNice looking flowers and produce. We have several perennial mums that have survived many winters, but nobody here sells them any more. Hope nobody buys a cabbage thinking they're getting a watermelon.

ReplyDeleteAll your photos of fresh farm produce made me hungry!
