Fall Colour is Here!

We had a great ride around Owen Sound today, doing a few errands and stopping in Harrison Park.  I went for a ride in the woods while Mrs. F.G. went around deadheading in the flowerbeds, looking for Zinnia seeds.  She got quite a few, but she'll undoubtedly order a bunch too over the winter.

Meanwhile I crossed the parking lot and headed down the trail.  Right in front of me was the bright red Sugar Maple I saw the whole time.  enjoy the pictures!

This was all one tree!  More pix from our ride soon.

I've just realized that this is post #2500!!  How have I kept at it for so long!?  And I've just passed 850,000 visits, and almost at 34000 comments.  Thank you all for sticking with me, the faithful visits I get keep me inspired.

  1. You take the fall colours perfectly, distance, close up, here in NZ those deeper shades show far better in the south where the winters are colder, and in autumn when the leaves fall the ground is a golden carpet. My tiny maples in our small garden are just starting to show some buds.

  3. Gorgeous colours and shots. The trees that usually have bright colours here seem to be very dull this year but it may be a bit early for them since it has been so warm.
    Congrats on all the posts!

  7. Oh my. I first saw sugar maples in all their glory circa 1970 in NY state. Being from Texas, and young (well, 25) I was stunned and overwhelmed. These photos are most welcome....thanks!

  9. Congratulations! That's a huge number of posts considering how much work you put into each one. I'm staying away from public transport at the moment so I'm missing my usual visit to the wonderful Sugar Maple in Cambridge's Botanic Garden.

  10. What a beautiful tree! I went to school next to an arboretum full of Japanese maples. It was such a joy every autumn. Not such a joy one winter day when my friends and I got lost at dusk (about 3 pm) and it began to snow….

  11. Congrats on the pics and reaching your blogging milestones. I have probably posted of my foot issues in the past. I am in the queue for foot fusion stemming from an ancient ankle sprain that has come back to haunt me in the past ten years or so.
