When you're stuck in one place much of the time, looking out the same window, at the same view, you develop a fascination with the constant changes happening before your eyes. Skies change quite often at this time of year, sometimes several times a day. I could show you 100 different photos of the view out my window over the entire year, every one of them different, but here are a few from the past 2 weeks.
Let's start with the snowstorm of two weeks ago, here late in the morning when the snow had mostly melted off the window.
We went through that cycle of grey and blue skies several times over the following week, often in the same day. With temperature sometimes above freezing, the snow was slowly melting, small green patches appearing.
This morning it looked like this. In spite of a little fluff of snow last night, it is more than half green.
Then the snow flurries arrived and it started turning white again. We'll go through constant cycles like this for the next 3 months.
How the scene changes! Great photo series!
ReplyDeleteIt changes like that here also. Although I think your view is pretty good! Stay warm!! And safe!
ReplyDeleteI like that last one very much, although it would mean bundling up and getting moving to keep from being cold! :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like some of the shadows you pick up.
ReplyDeleteA good collection of photos showing a time lapse of changing weather patterns. I like the yellow chair.
ReplyDeletethanks for clearing up the bird debacle!! the snow is pretty, but it is so beautiful when the sun comes out!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteNice variables of the same view but I still like the Green Ones better.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteYour views are beautiful, we saw snow like that yesterday. It turned into a slush. Great photos. Take care, enjoy your week ahead.
Beautiful pictures and what makes them so special are the splashes of colour against an otherwise 'dull' or white background. I'm going to look for more of those splashes on my walks too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the flurry wishes, it worked, we got dumped on overnight! haha
(I forgive you, only you can do that and get away with it!)
I love me a good snowstorm!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series. I like before, during and after series!
Terrific skies, and you have SNOW!!!! I want snow.....
ReplyDeleteHi Stew, it is Chris Duke, a past student. Peter Smith pointed out your blog to me and I am so grateful. I had heard faint messages about your struggles but now i have a much better understanding after reading many of your posts. Gosh, you are an inspiration to be still observing, commenting, and thinking about your world around you. I'm 17 years at OMAFRA (biogas, GHG emissions, climate change, stewardship support, research) and enjoying the path I've taken. We are building a cottage in Wiarton now (low carbon intensity log and no fossil fuels of course). I still remember the fun classes and work together. My family fondly remembers your wife's care for our children at family student health services. She wouldn't recognize them, i could send a photo. Or @cduke66 on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteThese are splendid views.
ReplyDeleteThank you for wishing us snow, I'm looking forward to it. We're supposed to get up to 18" tomorrow into Thursday -- winter at last!
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice views :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I appreciate the different vies. When it gets really cold I can not go out so I too see the same view out the back of my house. Out front of our house I can see all the decorations that the Mexican neighbor puts out. He loves to decorate for all holidays. Snow men and Santas and lights all over his roof and deck.
