Red Sky in the Morning

Twice in the last three days we've had a spectacular sunrise.   I'm trapped in bed, but my assistant photographer, Mrs. F.G., has enthusiastically stepped up to the plate.  Here is Tuesday's view from the front porch.

It didn't turn out to be a sailor's warning; the weather didn't change.  Maybe it was a warning of the Winter solstice tomorrow, a delightful day when the days start getting longer.

  1. Hey I saw the same red sunrise Mrs. FG saw only she saw it better. Too many trees in the way for us.

  2. Visual treat - thank you !

We have wind - 22 km ssw and the trees everywhere are loosing branches, some falling across roads, our fence across the back yard has had some of the old posts give way in the wind - work ahead (sure hope the neigbour's son will be helping (he promised to replace those posts in August 0 nothing was done). Another fence is missing all the boards - fell into the other neighbours yard. Hope that is all the damage - the wind is so hard and the huge cherry tree is so old and scary.

  3. Maybe it was a warning about the wind and rain to come on the west coast. We aren't at our float cabin but I'm sure it would have been rock and roll nights. I'm going to ask our friend in Powell River to go up and take a look to make sure all is well. We are in the States for Christmas. - Margy

  6. Yes! Beautiful indeed, and a sign that the days will now become longer, slowly but surely. :-)

  8. Stunning, and now would the best Christmas gift for Mrs F G to be a camera for herself? These are magnificent, I always struggle to get the balance between sky and darker areas down low.
