In the meantime, I lifted myself from hibernating to help get our Christmas tree up. It's artificial I'll admit, and Mrs. F.G. had to do most of the work, but we got it done.
Phase one is that part of the tree that I could reach from my wheelchair. Reaching up or down is a challenge!
But just to prove I was really helping....
And the finished tree. Once you turn on the lights it looks great regardless.
We've had no more snow, and a few days when the temperature rose above freezing. By today our snow was almost gone. A mild December day.
You amaze me. Have a wonderful Christmas, and your tree is beautiful. So glad you could do the bottom half and enjoy the accomplishment. - Margy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree, made special because it took more to do it than other ones. May He bless this season for you and yours even more than past ones.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your nap was a short one. The tree looks good, but the yard doen't look very much like Christmas -- time for a bit of snow for Santa's sled.
ReplyDeleteI too think of the Solstice as the New Year. I try to make it a big day. My ancient genes start yelling "CELEBRATE".
ReplyDeleteNice to see you working on the tree. It takes all hands.
We are still getting snow up here in the Ottawa Valley. Yesterday we had a lovely light snowfall all day while points south were getting mucky old freezing rain.
It feels good being able to contribute to the Christmas Decorating. We're certain Mrs FG appreciates it.
ReplyDeleteLove the Solstice. A day of awakening and more Sunshine.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I also look forward to the winter solstice. It didn't used to be that way.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased that you were able to do so much to help get the tree up. And it does look really lovely. Congratulations on your continued accomplishments. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery hot down here, our tree was given to a friend who also moved into a new home. The 3 little ones helped decorate, as we gave them all the decorations too. They do not have that pine needle aroma, but no mess to clean up, and will you helping Mrs F.G. this is indeed a huge accomplishment. Next year when we are more settled in, some lights and an angel on the top might happen.Your angel is so lovely there.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't put up a tree this year, mostly because my children who live with us are grown up and we all work full time but we have lights up around the house.
ReplyDeleteNice that you came out of hibernation, got the trees up and in the Christmas spirit. looking forward to the longer daylight hours.
ReplyDeleteWith this gloomy weather any shred of light at the end of the tunnel is certainly welcome and the beginning of lengthening days shortly is definitely a boost. Nice looking Christmas tree and glad to see you beat your neighbor Wiarton Willy out of hibernation.
ReplyDeleteThe tree is quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see this post and your photographs.
ReplyDeleteI think the tree looks lovely.
All the best Jan
What a beautiful tree and happy that you were able to help. : )
ReplyDeleteI too will like more daylight hours.
It is wonderful to see you at work. Your inside stay really is good with it being so cold outside. The finished tree is beautiful and does make the season great. I am glad you reminded us that the earth is going to start tilting back. I too am all ready for spring and warmth. My neighbors just left for Arizona. I have mixed feeling about that.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the tree. We have downsized fro the 9 ft tree to an 2 ft. And we are great with that.
ReplyDeleteThe tree looks great! We just got ours up with the lights on it but I haven't felt up to tackling the ornaments and all those little hooks.
ReplyDeletebeautiful tree! You did good:) I am anxious to get on with longer days even if it just a few minutes:)
ReplyDeleteSo good that you can do that much...the tree is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood work, the two of you!
