Rainy Day Visitors

We had rain on and off all day here today, but it tapered off after 3, so I picked up a coffee and headed out.  Stayed under the picnic shelter until I finished my coffee.

Coming outside after all the rain, the gardens had that bright green sparkly glow that lights up the world when you get sunshine after a rainfall.  The wet leaves were sparkling, the sparrows were splashing in the puddles and mist was rising off the roof I was under.  Nice temperaturesx and a gentle breeze, it couldn't be better.

I headed further to the butterfly gardens and poked around there a bit.  Sent a couple of messages using voice activation on my iphone - like magic!  I'll definitely be doing more of that.

Then who do you think came walking down the path but Patsy and Bill!  Incase you don't recognize the names, Patsy writes an interesting daily blog at  'Patsy is Chillin'.  Sorry I can't link you directly, but check it tomorrow and you just might find a picture of me.  We sat in the garden and talked for most of an hour.  They're in town to get some minor repairs on their RV.

Patsy and  Bill are snowbirds, heading to the southwest for 6 months every winter.  Then they bring their big fifth wheel back here for the summer.  They park it on a rural property about 45 minutes south of here.  Patsy has a garden, and brought me a fresh tomato which tasted delicious.  We visited them there (with George and Suzie) last year.

I did get a good picture of the happy couple, but of course you'll have to wait for that.  Thanks so much Bill and Patsy for taking the time to find me.

  3. If you'd like more rainy days we'd be happy to send you some, it's been an exceptionally wet summer down here with about 15 inches of rain in two days. Seriously, rainy days make colors appear more intense (saturated if you prefer)and are great days to be outside.

It must have been really good to get a surprise visit from two friends and the fresh tomato would have been a delightful treat. We'll have to check Patsy's blog.

  4. 'Your' garden is beautiful! I don't know how you manage to keep it so lovely! :) The way you describe it is perfect, now that I've seen it, I couldn't have done it better.
It was so wonderful to see and visit with you today, F.G. We both were thrilled that it worked out and we filled the required Tuesday company slot. I'm just sorry that we missed Mrs. F.G., please give her our regards tomorrow.

  5. I hopped over to Patsy, and there you are sitting in the beautiful garden , what extensive plantings, areas in the shade and lovely level wide pathways. Hope all the "going home" plans are doing OK. A voice app on your phone, a huge advantage. So glad someone else does all that mowing and weeding, I have not seen a hospital here with plantations like that. Fond greetings from a wet day in NZ.

  6. Know what you mean by that 'bright green sparkly glow' and experienced it twice today as well with the same weather front you had. That was great Patsy and Bill got down there into the south end of London to see you. We met them a couple winters ago at our Congress Arizona house. Nice folks. How great for you to get outside following the rains and see what you saw and feel what you did surrounded by the healing wonders of nature.
